How-To: Floating Spooky Candles

BY
Sarah Biegel

Seen these floating candles on social media but have no idea how to recreate the magic?

I got you!

It took me 20 minutes and 4 items to complete.

First, you are going to want to add these things to your Amazon cart and check out. I've done the work and tried several LED remote candles, and these are by far the best and most realistic.

  1. LED remote candles
  2. Fishing wire
  3. Command strips
  4. AAA batteries

Once you have all of these things in hand, let's get started!

  1. Start by grabbing your Command strips and placing them on the ceiling where you'd like the candles to be placed.
  2. Fill all candles with batteries & make sure they turn on and off.
  3. At the base of the flame on the stem, tie a few knots with fishing wire. Make sure it's secure.
  4. One candle at a time, measure out how long you want it to hang. Cut the fishing wire a few inches longer from your desired position.
  5. Wrapping the fishing line around your finger, tie 3-4 knots making sure to leave some space to wiggle it off your finger.
  6. One you have a little knotted loop, hang it on the command strip.
  7. Repeat steps 4-6 for all candles.
  8. Once completed, use the remote to turn all candles on at once and watch the magic unfold!
